Ten to Forever - Diandra Etkin '16

I truly don’t know how or where to begin telling you why MRH is life changing.

I’ll start by telling you what a blessing it was to have Elly there with us. Hearing his stories of courage, resilience, bravery and hope during one of the most inhumane parts of history, was the greatest experience I have been given. A young boy at the time, he and his family showed so much determination and faith in each other. When I’m faced with challenges in my own life, I often reflect on the stories and words of advice Elly has given me during my time with him on MRH, as well as over the past 3, almost 4, years.

Speaking of being faced with challenges, I would not have made it through the challenges I’ve faced over the past few years without the pure and true friendships I am beyond grateful to have made on MRH. The intelligent, loving, determined, motivated, accomplished, compassionate human beings I am beyond blessed to have in my life, are the beautiful souls I met on MRH.

We have been together through each of our hard times, and have celebrated in each of our joys. I will forever be grateful for meeting each of these humans on MRH. Learning from, and conversing with them during our time in Germany and Poland, was an absolute pleasure. I love that we have all taken our experience on MRH home with us and have contributed to creating more inclusive, compassionate communities.
